Introduction to my new Blog

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my new Blog. I'm Faisal Sheikh, a naive competitive coder who has just begun the journey of competitive coding few months back. This is my first ever Blog and this is because of my love towards algorithms, problem solving and coding. Now, I've decided to document my journey of competitive coding by creating this Blog. Though I'm still a beginner in the world of competitive coding, I myself want to learn more and more about various approaches for solving problems in a better way and also to share my knowledge alongside as I learn. With the help of this Blog, I aim to serve the coding community and to learn from the experts in coding community.

What is competitive coding ?

For me, it's a sport, just like many other sports. You compete with others to provide the best solution to a problem. It involves formulating the problem statement into an algorithm, optimizing it, converting the algorithm into code and then submitting the code which will then be checked across multiple test cases. However, most of the times there are many constraints which must be satisfied by the provided solution and this is why an optimized solution must be developed. Common constraints include time limit and space limit. For beginning with competitive coding, one can start by solving easy problems and then gradually moving towards difficult problems. Having a strong command at least in Data Structures (it's even great if you're familiar with algorithms) is one prerequisite for beginning with competitive coding according to me and as you go ahead, you keep learning.
